Auberge Resorts Collection, an award-winning portfolio of one of-a-kind luxury hotels, resorts and residences, has been appointed by the Miami-based developer Witkoff and Monroe Capital to manage The Shore Club Resort & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection in Miami Beach.

The reimagining of the The Shore Club in the heart of Miami Beach is set to open in 2027 and will see the iconic hotel restored and elevated to welcome the world’s most discerning individuals once again, not just as a hotel, but as one the city’s most exclusive new permanent address’.

A historic landmark both architecturally and socially, The Shore Club has stood at 1901 Collins Avenue in the heart of Miami Beach since 1949, when Albert Anis designed the Art Deco-style hotel within a lush, beachfront oasis – even more verdant today. As an Auberge Resorts Collection property, this world-famous, three-acre playground with 175 feet of oceanfront will encompass not only the original Shore Club and its Art Deco contemporary, The Cromwell Hotel, built in 1939, but also a new 18-story residential tower and a free-standing residential villa, both designed by the globally esteemed Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA) as the lauded firm’s very first oceanfront project.

“We are excited to expand our urban footprint with the addition of Shore Club in Miami Beach, a place where nature, art, culture and entertainment come together in uniquely compelling ways,” said Dan Friedkin, chairman, Auberge Resorts Collection. “Our proven skill in elevating historic properties through exceptional service and experiences together with Witkoff’s vision and Robert Stern’s exquisite design will transform this legendary address into a dynamic new destination that embodies the unique spirit of Miami Beach. We can’t wait to bring this vision to life.”

Working closely with acclaimed London-based interior design firm Bryan O’Sullivan Studio and Kobi Karp Architecture and Interior Design, RAMSA and Auberge Resorts Collection will ensure that The Shore Club’s historic integrity and character remain intact, celebrating its vibrant past while firmly reinstating it as the centerpiece of a new South Beach era. Just 73 rooms and suites, including a luxurious penthouse, will offer guests the ultimate Miami Beach experience, with direct beach access, five-star amenities set within landscaped botanical gardens and the unparalleled, intuitive service and singular experiences for which Auberge Resorts Collection is known worldwide.

Rising from the shore with awe-inspiring Atlantic Ocean views, the property’s new 200-foot-tall residential tower, will reveal RAMSA’s spin on Miami Beach’s iconic MiMo (Miami Modern) architecture. Curves inspired by the ocean’s fluid form reference the area’s Art Deco heritage, while staggered tiers yield vast, undulating terraces and endless water vistas. The eight-story Cromwell Hotel will be transformed into a discreet private residential entrance from which homeowners will access the 49 exclusive residences. Each will offer its own distinct floor plan and large glass windows that frame dramatic ocean views, blurring the line between indoors and out. Residence interiors touch on the same timeless theme that runs throughout the resort, with rich woods, sinuous lines and brass accents a nod to the materials and forms of classic yachts.

An extremely rare addition to Miami Beach and completely unique to The Shore Club Resort & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection, is one 8,000-square-foot beach house, also designed by RAMSA. Envisaged for a single family, the fully serviced villa offers its own private entrance, swimming pool and breathtaking, palm-fringed ocean views.

Residents and guests of The Shore Club Resort & Private Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection will be spoilt for choice when it comes to relaxation and entertainment within this private enclave, located just moments from all the city has to offer. Imbued with an intoxicating blend of beach serenity and buzzing urban vibes, the property’s lush green environs seamlessly knit the two historic landmarks and new elements into a cohesive whole, while separating private amenities from those open to resort guests.

Residents will enjoy a state-of-the-art private fitness center, a library, lounge and residents-only pool just steps from the sand, as well as exceptional in-home offerings. They will also be able to take full advantage of all other hotel amenities, including the signature restaurant, set to become the culinary destination of Miami. A buzzing and seductive double-height café and bar will lead to an alfresco lounge, and a world

class indoor-outdoor Auberge spa and fitness center will cater to all wellness needs. Time outside will be savored at the Beach Club, in the cocktail lounge and at three swimming pools flanked by sun terraces and a poolside café and bar.

Alex Witkoff, Co-CEO, Witkoff, notes, “With all their experience and finesse in curating luxury escapes and lifestyles, it gives me great pleasure to have the award-winning team at Auberge Resorts Collection manage our property in Miami Beach. The approach taken by Auberge Resorts Collection is very much in keeping with Witkoff’s ethos of crafting top-tier luxury destinations. This collaboration is complementary in every way and we very much look forward to working with them to reinstate this iconic property on the Miami Beach skyline.”

Says Craig Reid, chief executive officer, Auberge Resorts Collection: “We are delighted to partner with Witkoff and Monroe Capital as we continue to expand Auberge’s presence in global urban destinations. The Shore Club will be a standout destination highlighting Miami Beach as one of the finest locations in which to relax, play and live.”

Witkoff has revealed ‘Beach House at The Shore Club Private Collection’, a one-of-a-kind oceanfront Robert A.M. Stern-designed home within The Shore Club Private Collection five star resort. The $37.5 million Beach House spans 8,237 SF spread over 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3 powder rooms and staff quarters. A rare oceanfront single-family home, Beach House offers privacy and individuality together with all the luxuries and amenities of The Shore Club Private Collections’s exceptional beachfront club.

“Our design for Beach House evokes the romance of the great eras of Miami Beach architecture: Art Deco, Miami Modern and the city’s rebirth as a 21st-century destination.” said architect Robert A.M. Stern.

Nestled in its own botanical oasis overlooking the ocean, Beach House is as private as private gets. An architectural jewel inspired by the dazzling and dramatic fusion of Art Deco, Miami Modern and 21st-century design, has been masterfully imagined by Robert A.M. Stern Architects to complement the alluring aesthetic of The Shore Club Private Collection. The sprawling, sunlit, glass-bathed residence offers a discreet entrance leading to lush landscaping at the ocean’s doorstep. The home features a host of outdoor terraces, a custom triple-height staircase and an infinity-edge rooftop pool looking out to the ocean. In addition to the seclusion of a private oceanfront house tucked away behind lush botanical gardens, Beach House is afforded its own exclusive direct access to the private residential pool, gym, hot tub and poolside bar.

“We designed distinct outdoor spaces for every level of Beach House: a secluded covered loggia on the garden level; a main-level terrace off the living rooms scaled for entertaining; a primary-suite terrace; and an ocean terrace with a private infinity-edge dipping pool overlooking the ocean.” said Paul Whalen, a Partner at Robert A.M. Stern Architects.

The reinvention of the Shore Club Private Collection is a united vision in partnership with Auberge Resorts Collection. The residences will be serviced by Auberge but will offer privacy and seclusion within the five star resort. The collection of amenities and services exclusive to residents include a discreet porte cochere entrance, three separate swimming pools including a private residential pool, 75-foot lap pool and a leisure pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, library, lounge and other amenities. Auberge Resorts Collection’s one-of-a-kind reputation for intimate tailored service will also extend to the residences with numerous in-home offerings, as well as access to Auberge’s world-class spa, concierge services, housekeeping, beach club and culinary experiences, including in-residence dining, house sommelier services, a signature restaurant, poolside café and bar with dedicated cabana service, double-height café and bar leading to an outdoor lounge, and more.

Building on the rich history of Miami Beach’s Art Deco and modernism design style, while also fostering a seamless connection to its iconic location, Shore Club Private Collection will be home to 49 residences designed by award-winning New York-based firm, Robert A.M. Stern Architects. The architect is behind some of New York City’s most successful buildings, including 220 Central Park South and its predecessor, 15 Central Park West. Shore Club will be set on three oceanfront acres with lush botanical gardens curated by renowned landscape architect Nathan Browning of Island Planning Corporation.

The development is the first residential oceanfront project designed inside and out by Robert A.M. Stern and includes a ground-up new building, The Tower, a newly reimagined Art Deco building originally completed in 1939, The Cromwell House, and The Beach House, a signature single-family beach house. Each component relates architecturally yet is artistically distinctive, envisioned to maximize vistas and light with the curvature of each home to deliver a product that does not yet exist in the Miami market. The interiors further this vision, taking inspiration from yacht design and the patterns and movement of the ocean waves and sand on Miami’s coastline. RAMSA collaborated with Miami-based Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design on the architecture.

Witkoff and Monroe Capital Launch Shore Club Private Collection Designed By Robert A.M. Stern At Miami Beach's Historic Shore Club

For decades the Shore Club hotel has been an iconic presence on Miami Beach, a three-acre playground in the sand known all over the world. Now the Shore Club’s exciting future as a centerpiece of South Beach for the next century takes a major step forward with the launch of the Shore Club Private Collection, 49 residences designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects.

Stern Architects including a new 200-foot-tall oceanfront tower from the legendary architect that is his nautical-inspired spin on the area’s iconic MiMo (Miami Modern) architecture. Residences at Shore Club Private Collection start at approximately $6 million and are exclusively marketed by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing.

The historic Shore Club was originally designed by Albert Anis and completed in 1949 along Miami Beach’s famed Collins Avenue. The Shore Club is being redeveloped by Witkoff and Monroe Capital, who are preserving and reinventing the property as a boutique 5-star resort by Auberge Resorts Collection known as Shore Club. Shore Club is designed by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio and will offer 75 suites.

The Shore Club Private Collection residences, serviced by Auberge but offering privacy and seclusion within the 5-star resort, offers resort style amenities including a pool and gardens exclusive to residents.

The Shore Club Private Collection is RAMSA’s first ever oceanfront project and first residential project on Miami Beach after the firm completed the Miami Beach Library in 2005. Like Stern’s history-making and record-breaking designs in New York at 15 Central Park West and 220 Central Park South, the residences are divided between a more boutique low-rise building with expansive floor-plans, and a connected views-focused tower.

At Shore Club, The Cromwell, an Art Deco building completed in 1939 that was later combined with the Shore Club’s campus, is being preserved and transformed into a glamorous yet discreet private entrance for residents that will also house four duplex residences on its upper floors. The 18-story rounded tower, inspired by the ocean’s waves and filled with nautical and yachting references, creates an iconic silhouette on the Miami Beach skyline and is composed of three staggered tiers that yield vast undulating terraces, with no two floor-plans exactly alike. RAMSA collaborated with Miami-based Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design on the project.

Interior spaces reference materials and shapes of classic yachts, including rich woods like mahogany and oak; nickel, brass accents, and other light metalwork; swooping walls and arched windows. Large glass walls framing the dramatic ocean views will blur the line between indoor and outdoor living, seamlessly opening from the large rooms to the oversize terraces.

Completely unique to the Shore Club Private Collection is one signature 6,000-square-foot single-family beach house, also newly constructed and designed by RAMSA. This extremely rare new beachfront house on the sands of Miami Beach will enjoy all the services and amenities of the Shore Club Private Collection and Auberge.

In addition to the discreet porte-cochere entrance and exclusive pool, residents also enjoy a private world-class fitness center, library, lounge, and other amenities. Auberge Resorts Collection’s one-of-a-kind reputation for intimate tailored service will also extend to the residences with numerous in-home offerings, as well as access to Auberge’s world-class spa, beach club and culinary experiences, including a signature restaurant, poolside café and bar with dedicated cabana service, double-height café and bar leading to an outdoor lounge, and more. Lush botanical gardens with native plantings designed by Island Planning Corporation knit together the two historic buildings and new elements into one cohesive resort, while dividing private amenities from those open to resort guests.

Witkoff and Monroe Capital have announced a partnership with world renowned Robert A.M. Stern Architects to restore and redevelop the iconic Shore Club Hotel at 1901 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. On November 15th, 2021, Witkoff and Monroe Capital filed an application with the City of Miami Beach for approval by the Historic Preservation Board.

Witkoff and Monroe Capital have announced a partnership with world renowned Robert A.M. Stern Architects to restore and redevelop the iconic Shore Club Hotel at 1901 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. On November 15th, 2021, Witkoff and Monroe Capital filed an application with the City of Miami Beach for approval of the renovation and redevelopment of the Shore Club and Cromwell property by the Historic Preservation Board.

The Shore Club Hotel, a South Beach institution since 1949, is a private residential resort and boutique hotel set within a lush botanical landscape on Miami Beach. The Mid-Century Modern or “MiMo” style Shore Club Hotel was combined in 2001 with the Cromwell Hotel, an Art Deco-style hotel built in 1939. Uniquely situated in the Miami Beach Architectural (Art Deco) District and listed in the National Register of historic places, the Shore Club Hotel, is a “club” in every aspect of the word, inviting a sense of exclusivity. The newly reimagined luxury offerings will include 80 custom-designed residences and 65 boutique hotel suites, combining classic elegance with modern luxury. Given Witkoff and Stern's long history of preserving and restoring historic structures, the restoration and redevelopment of the legendary Shore Club has a veritable Historic Preservation Dream Team helping to bring the project to fruition.

The Shore Club Hotel’s storied history will be preserved while redeveloping the property into a new Miami Beach icon designed through a contemporary lens, embracing and enhancing its heritage. The proposed plan prioritizes maintaining the contributing historic structures of the original Cromwell and Shore Club hotels while building an additional two new structures on the property: a residential building and a private villa. In addition, the exterior will include three pool decks for residential and hotel use, a remodeled exterior dining area, an exterior cafe, all set among a lush tropical oasis.

To honor the Shore Club’s rich history, the interior plans include a complete restoration of the lobby to its original grandeur and renovation of its hotel suites, two world-class food offerings, carefully curated amenities catering towards every need of the individual residents and guests, a state-of-the-art gym facility, and private screening and lounge rooms.

Witkoff’s long, successful history of restoring and redeveloping properties of historical significance includes the iconic Woolworth Building, Daily News Building, 55 Wall Street, One Broadway in Manhattan, and Shell Mex House and Devonshire House in London as well as the Hilton Cabana in Miami Beach. Witkoff and Monroe Capital prioritized expertise in historic preservation and compatible new construction in selecting architect, teacher and writer Robert A.M Stern to lead the Shore Club’s design, with historic renovation projects including 18 Gramercy Park South (renovation of a women’s boarding house into a condo), The Claremont (a residential tower addition to the Union Theological Seminary) and The Belnord (partial renovation of an historic rental building into a condominium).

Heritage Architectural Associates, led by Steven Avdakov, an architect specializing in historic preservation, is serving as the Historic Preservation Consultant on the project to preserve and restore the authenticity of the original structures and interior. The design team also includes acclaimed Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design, as well as landscape architecture firm Island Planning Corporation, led by founder Nathan Browning.

“Witkoff is honored to have the opportunity to restore and redevelop the Shore Club and Cromwell back to their original grandeur,” said Alex Witkoff, Principal of Witkoff, “We look forward to collaborating with the City of Miami Beach, the Historic Preservation Board and the community to ensure that our vision honors the Shore Club and Cromwell’s storied histories.”

“As Miami Beach increasingly grows as a global city, historically significant projects like this define and contribute to its thriving culture and flourishing economy.” adds Kyle Asher, Managing Director of Monroe Capital.

“The historic preservation of the original Cromwell and Shore Club Hotel is essential to the restoration due to the buildings’ status as designated historic structures and to preserve the history of Miami Beach as a whole,” stated Historian Steve Avdakov on the nature of the project.

“From the outset of the conceptualization of this project, the team focused on ensuring the historical integrity of the Shore Club and leading with a contextual design approach that complements the surrounding community. It is critical to preserve the historic integrity of iconic properties like the Shore Club and Cromwell,” said Paul Whalen, Partner of Robert A.M. Stern Architects. “Our design strategy and approach for the project was heavily influenced by their storied history.”

HFZ is currently in the process of returning deposits to buyers and began alerting their clients on Friday (10/2717) of the news.

HFZ Capital Group has canceled the Fasano Residences Miami Beach, a 67-unit luxury condo project planned for the Shore Club Hotel property, which is currently managed by Morgans Hotel Group and owned by HFZ Capital Group. HFZ is currently in the process of returning deposits to buyers and began alerting their clients on Friday (10/2717) of the news. The project had sold 35-30 units, roughly 40%-45% of the project. The delayed closure of the Shore Club Hotel, which continued to take reservations into 2018, had caused confusion amongst buyers as had the rumored withdrawal of the Fasano brand, the luxurious Brazilian hospitality moniker. No construction permits had been filed and the developer reported that the market for construction financing on Miami Beach had dried out. HFZ Capital Group via the entity Shore Club Property Owner LLC purchased the Shore Club for $175.3 million in 2013 and planned to convert the 309-key hotel into a 85-key hotel with 67-condos under the watchful eye of Brazilian Architect Isay Weinfeld. The project would have been the first Fasano branded project in the United States, which has 4 hotels and 15 restaurants under management.
