World's Wealthiest Dog Selling Madonna's Former Miami Estate For $32 Million

The world’s wealthiest dog is about to get a little richer. Worth nearly half a billion dollars, the German Shepherd named Gunther VI just listed the former Miami estate of the global pop star, Madonna, for $31.75 Million. Situated in one of the most desired locations in Miami, the private estate sits on a 51,000-sq.ft lot with 100 feet of water frontage.

The world’s wealthiest dog is about to get a little richer. Worth nearly half a billion dollars, the German Shepherd named Gunther VI just listed the former Miami estate of the global pop star, Madonna, for $31.75 Million.

Situated in one of the most desired locations in Miami, the private estate sits on a 51,000-sq.ft lot with 100 feet of water frontage featuring lush landscaping, breathtaking open bay and city views, and a dock to soak in the South Florida sunshine. Spanning 8,400-sq.ft, with 9 bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms, the residence is one of only six waterfront homes in the exclusive enclave.

To land the coveted listing, expert real estate agents Ruthie and Ethan Assouline with The Assouline Team at Compass had to undergo a rigorous “sniff test” and received a bark of approval from Gunther VI before entrusting them with the sale of the property.

Gunther VI inherited his vast fortune, and the Miami estate, from his grandfather Gunther IV who purchased it from the pop star over 20 years ago. The canine comes from a lineage that dates back 40 years and 6 generations. Gunther III inherited a multimillion-dollar trust when his owner the late German countess Karlotta Liebenstein died in 1992.

Since then, the humans who manage the canine’s estate have amassed a fortune worth nearly $500 Million and invested Gunther’s money to snatch up mansions and villas all over the world, from Miami to Tuscany (his primary residence), Florence and Milan—and invested in various sectors from real estate to publishing, sports teams, nightclubs and scientific research to uncover the secret to living a life of happiness.

According to the dictates of his legacy, Gunther’s bloodline have all lived a life full of love, joy and pleasure in the lap of luxury – with a group of handlers, maids and butlers to tend to the pampered pooch’s every need. The jet-setting dog travels by private jet, eats steak and caviar for dinner, owns multiple yachts and collector cars, and even purchased rare $1.1 Million white truffle at auction. In recent years, Gunther Rescue was founded as a benefit society to help animals in need.

While Gunther VI embarks on the next phase of his journey, the new owner of this Miami estate will have the perfect opportunity to restore or build new in a prime location with a unique history that no one else in the world can claim.

3029 Brickell Avenue is currently listed for $31.75 Million by Ruthie & Ethan Assouline with The Assouline Team at Compass.

Electra America Hospitality Group (EAHG), a joint venture between Electra America and AKA, has acquired the Conrad Miami hotel in Brickell for $75.33 million. The seller was AG-M Miami Hotel Owner LLC, a JV partnership between the Miami-based Mast Capital and the New York-based Angelo Gordon. The transaction was funded with a $58 million loan from OWS BCA Funding LLC. Andrew Dickey, Gregory Rumpel and Maciej Polek of JLL represented the seller in the transaction.

The Conrad Miami hotel is located in the Brickell Arch Tower, an iconic, 36-story mixed-use tower on Brickell Avenue in the heart of Miami’s financial district. The hotel includes 201 guestrooms, an 11-story atrium, a sky lobby, a fitness and spa facility, a rooftop swimming pool, event venues including, ballroom, small meetings and pre-function spaces. The hotel will be converted to “Hotel AKA Brickell,” immediately following acquisition, offering a mix of short-term and extended-stay lodging options catering to the upscale leisure and corporate traveler.

This marks EAHG’s third hotel acquisition since the joint ventured launched in early 2021 with the intent to acquire and reposition underperforming hotels in gateway cities. EAHG also recently acquired a 194-room hotel in New York City and another 178-room hotel in Old Town Alexandria in the Washington, D.C. metro area. It also marks AKA’s entry into the robust Miami market. AKA, which specializes in accommodations designed for longer stays with exceptional business, wellness, and lifestyle amenities in well-known neighborhoods, operates 14 properties in New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and London.

“In our initial six months, EAHG has been extremely active and all right down the fairway of our business plan,” said Russ Urban, CEO of EAHG. “All are in extremely high growth gateway markets with a balance of transient and corporate business not reliant on the lagging group segment. In addition to the already recovered leisure market, the acquisition of the Brickell Miami property is particularly exciting because of the recent tsunami of corporate relocations to Miami. Dozens of high-profile technology firms and financial institutions from New York and internationally have announced plans to open offices in Miami’s downtown and Brickell neighborhoods. Now, more than ever, we are confident that corporate and business-related travel will return strong and that high-end, multi-night stay properties in Miami’s urban core will be in high demand.”

“We’ve always envisioned AKA in Miami, a market that is globally appealing, vibrant and filled with opportunity,” said Larry Korman, President of AKA and co-CEO of Korman Communities. “Finding the perfect property is always a journey, and we knew we found a gem in this architecturally significant and well-located high-rise offering. CI Financial To Launch US Headquarters At OKO Group and Cain International's 830 Brickell

Just one week after Microsoft announced that it would be taking 50,000 SF at 830 Brickell, CI Financial Corp., a leading Canadian asset and wealth management firm, has announced that they will open their new U.S. headquarters at the Class A-plus office tower which is under construction in Miami’s Brickell Financial District.

Just one week after Microsoft announced that it would be taking 50,000 SF at 830 Brickell, CI Financial Corp., a leading Canadian asset and wealth management firm, has announced that they will open their new U.S. headquarters at the Class A-plus office tower which is under construction in the heart of Miami’s Brickell Financial District. CI Financial’s full-floor, +/-20,000 SF office will solidify 830 Brickell as the new address of choice for financial, professional services, and technology firms establishing and growing their presence in South Florida. The 55-story tower, a joint venture between OKO Group and Cain International, is scheduled for completion in 2022.

“Miami is an incredible place to establish our U.S. headquarters and support our fast-growing U.S. business,” stated Kurt MacAlpine, Chief Executive Officer of CI Financial. “It serves as the next logical step for our expansion plans as we work to build the leading wealth management platform in the country. In addition, Miami is a vibrant, multicultural city that offers a deep talent pool, an attractive location for recruiting and a very business-friendly environment. Locating at 830 Brickell puts CI at the heart of this dynamic city and its growing financial community.”

CI Financial becomes the second major financial tenant to lease space at 830 Brickell in the last few months, joining private equity firm Thoma Bravo, which recently announced plans for a 36,500 SF office in the tower. Last week, technology giant Microsoft announced plans to occupy 50,000 SF in the tower. 830 Brickell’s ownership was represented by the Cushman & Wakefield team of Brian Gale, Ryan Holtzman and Andrew Trench. CI Financial was represented by Donna Abood and Mark Robbins of Avison Young.

“We are thrilled by CI Financial’s decision to make 830 Brickell the home of its U.S. headquarters. This move demonstrates the firm’s commitment to Miami and underscores the city’s rise as a hub for global and domestic businesses. Attracting a group like CI Financial is precisely what we envisioned when we decided to develop this best-in-class office tower in the Brickell Financial District,” said Jonathan Goldstein, CEO of Cain International.

“830 Brickell has become a natural fit for new-to-market finance firms establishing a presence in Miami,” said Ryan Holtzman of Cushman & Wakefield. “Offering tenants market-leading amenities, a walkable location in the heart of the Brickell Financial District, and access to several transit options and countless shops, restaurants and residences nearby, 830 Brickell is in a league of its own – the first trophy office tower to be developed in Miami’s urban core in more than a decade, and South Florida’s only building capable of accommodating tenants in the market for core Class A-plus space.”

A 2021 analysis of Downtown Miami’s finance sector surveyed the district’s emergence as a hub for asset managers and investment advisors. A report by the Miami Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and Convergence found that the number of S.E.C.-Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) in Downtown Miami grew from 82 in 2018 to 111 through year-end 2020, a 35% net increase. Total Reported Assets Under Management in the district more than doubled from $75 billion in 2018 to $152.4 billion during the same period.

“The steady flow of financial firms into Downtown Miami is strengthening our position as Wall Street of the South, creating job opportunities for locals, bringing new life to our city streets, and supporting existing businesses in our community,” said Miami DDA Chairman and City Commissioner Manolo Reyes. “The arrival of CI Financial reflects the Miami DDA’s ongoing pursuit of finance and technology firms across the U.S. and abroad. Each day, companies from New York, Chicago, Connecticut, California and around the world are moving or expanding to Miami and growing their businesses, hiring talent, and offering their employees an improved lifestyle along with cost savings.”

The growth of Downtown Miami has been fueled an influx of businesses, investors and people. The list of recent businesses that have expanded into Downtown Miami includes Blackstone, Pipe, Point72, Moore Capital, Founders Fund, ShiftPixy, and BlockTower Capital. Greater Downtown Miami’s residential population now stands at 115,000, a 65% increase since 2010. The district is home to a daily population of more 250,000 people and attracts nearly six million visitors annually. This activity is opening the door to new entertainment, shopping and dining options, including restaurants, retailers, cinemas, grocery stores, museums and performing arts venues.

830 Brickell was designed by renowned architecture firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, with interiors by Italian architecture and design company Iosa Ghini Associati. Together with OKO Group and Cain International, the designers have anticipated how the COVID-19 pandemic will reshape the future of business by incorporating new features into the plans, including ultraviolet lighting in air filtration systems, touchless technologies, world-class health and wellness center, a rooftop bar and first-class restaurant, and more.

The tower’s amenities include a rooftop restaurant and lounge with expansive views of the City and Biscayne Bay, a world-class health and wellness center, a conference facility, an outdoor terrace, cafeìs and street-level retail. Multiple transit options are nearby, including Metrorail and Metromover, the Brightline, walking paths, cycling lanes and bay access points. Additionally, some of Miami’s top residential and lifestyle-driven neighborhoods are situated just minutes away, such as Miami’s Design District, Wynwood, Edgewater and Miami Beach.

Miami City Commission Approves Savino Miller-Designed Baywalk And Riverwalk Design Guidelines For Downtown Miami and Brickell

The Miami City Commission has approved the Savino Miller Design Studio-designed design guidelines for the Miami Baywalk, a priority of the DDA (Downtown Development Authority) and achievement that has been over 40 years in the making.

The Miami City Commission has approved the Savino Miller Design Studio-designed design guidelines for the Miami Baywalk, a priority of the DDA (Downtown Development Authority) and achievement that has been over 40 years in the making. The effort dates back to the 1979 Dan Paul ordinance requiring 50-foot setbacks along the waterfront and requiring developers to build and maintain a 25-foot wide public promenade.

The Miami-based Savino Miller Design Studio was selected by the Downtown Development Authority to design the baywalk in 2017. The approved design will make the Baywalk one uniform pathway that is well lit and aesthetically attractive. The design provides resiliency and is both functional and sustainable to protect the shoreline. The pedestrian pathway will also be well lit for safety as well as feature public art and lush landscaping.

The vote amends the City's Miami 21 code to include required design guidelines, carrying big implications for developers planning future projects along the water. From this point forward, any permits pulled for new development or significant renovations to existing properties will have to abide by the ‘Waterfront Walkway Design Guidelines’ that provide a clear and cohesive vision for the design and construction for both the Baywalk and Riverwalk. The 4.5 mile baywalk and riverwalk will feature a uniform plan for seating, paving, lighting, landscaping, etc. Areas zoned for singe-family homes and duplexes will be exempt from the guidelines.

Black Lion Investment Group has acquired the former Katsuya space in the SLS LUX Hotel & Residences in Brickell from The Allen Morris Company and Related Group for $13.5 million. The 11,412 SF restaurant suite is located at 8 SE 8th St. and includes the S Bar component as well. The space can accommodate up to 180 diners and also features an outdoor patio and an exclusive private dining area. Black Lion Investment Group plans to bring in a world-class flagship restaurant to the space which they expect to open in late 2021 or 2022. The off-market transaction was overseen by Fabio Faerman and Sebastian Faerman of FA Commercial with Fortune International Group.

Black Lion Investment Group is led by Robert Rivani and has spent $38 million in Miami over the past sixty days, including the Wynwood Arcade and Amara at Paraiso. They also own the Brickell Bay Boardwalk where another restaurant concept is planned.

“Miami, and Brickell in particular, is on a trajectory to evolve into the Manhattan of the Southern United States. Black Lion is thrilled to be part of Miami’s growth story by bringing even more world-class food and beverage offerings to Miami’s already thriving dining and nightlife scene,” said the firm’s president, Robert Rivani. “We’re exuberant about redeveloping this prized restaurant space in one of the hottest markets in the country.” Mr. Rivani continued, “When you examine what people are most willing to get out of the house and spend time and money on post-pandemic, it’s largely the hospitality experiences that simply cannot be recreated at home. We’re betting on Miami’s year-round residents and visitors continuing that trend indefinitely, enjoying the unique atmosphere of this cosmopolitan city throughout the year. We’re working to identify the restaurant concept that best complements Brickell’s vibrant, electrifying spirit, whether that’s a flagship location of an existing high-end brand or an entirely new chef-driven vision.”
