Pura Vida Miami, South Florida’s premier all-day cafe and wellness brand, has opened its first flagship location in the heart of the historic Coconut Grove neighborhood. Marking a major milestone for the Miami-born brand, the expansive 6,000-square-foot space at 3000 Grand Avenue is now Pura Vida Miami’s largest outpost yet and introduces the brand’s new gelato concept. This flagship location reflects years of thoughtful growth and intentional evolution, serving as a central hub for the community, where Pura Vida Miami’s signature experience is elevated in every detail—from design and layout to new culinary innovations.

“Our 34th and most stunning location yet, our Coconut Grove flagship brings an elevated design and the exclusive debut of our better-for-you gelato — a true celebration of everything we love. In designing Coconut Grove, we set out to create a space that feels both refined and effortless, where every detail — from the finishes to the flow — reflects the lifestyle that defines Pura Vida Miami and sets the tone for how the brand is evolving visually. Our goal is to cultivate environments that are warm, welcoming, and deeply connected to the communities we serve — and we hope to bring just that to the Coconut Grove neighborhood.” Said Jennifer Horev, Chief Brand Officer of Pura Vida Miami & Horev Hospitality.

As with all Pura Vida Miami locations, wellness goes beyond just nutritious food; it’s about creating an all-encompassing, exceptional dining experience that fuels both body and mind. This flagship location embodies the brand’s ethos with an elevated design, featuring natural stoneware and organic textures throughout—including travertine, Taj Mahal quartzite, and Venetian plaster—alongside custom furnishings and high-end finishes. Woven grass pendants add a soft, natural warmth from above, complementing the raw, tactile materials used throughout the space, while stone walls subtly evoke the raw, sculptural beauty of a Mediterranean grotto. The space is defined by soaring 30-foot ceilings and anchored by a large banyan tree situated at the heart of the store, reinforcing the connection to nature and the neighborhood’s native lush surroundings.

A new Market Display has also debuted at this location, highlighting Pura Vida Miami’s expanding product line—from clean protein bars and wellness-focused snacks to apparel, homeware, and signature scent. Designed by Chief Brand Officer Jennifer Horev, the flagship features an airy, open-floor layout that seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces—an inviting setting where guests can relax and connect at any time of day.

The Coconut Grove Flagship exclusively debuts the brand’s newest concept: Gelato by Pura Vida Miami. Rooted in tradition and developed with the same unwavering dedication to health, wellness, and clean ingredients, this “better-for-you” gelato honors the flavor and texture of traditional Italian gelato—crafted in-house, naturally sweetened with trehalose, entirely gluten-free, and free from refined sugars. Made fresh daily with consciously chosen, high-quality ingredients, every detail is designed with intention, allowing guests to indulge without compromise.

Signature flavors include Salted Pistachio, Chocolate Hazelnut, and Welcome to Miami—inspired by one of Pura Vida Miami’s beloved smoothies—served in house-made gluten-free waffle cones with pure, homemade chocolate. For those on the go, these signature flavors, along with Fior di Vanilla, will also be available in to-go pints, offering a taste of Gelato by Pura Vida Miami at any time of day.

The Coconut Grove neighborhood can anticipate Pura Vida Miami’s thoughtfully curated menu, featuring its famed All-Day Breakfast offerings—highlighting a range of avocado toasts and pasture-raised eggs, each paired perfectly with artisanal coffee, matcha drinks, and teas. Clean, chef-driven salads can be customized with high-quality proteins, alongside colorful wraps, sandwiches, and bowls with diverse bases and proteins to accommodate various dietary preferences. An array of superfood smoothies, cold-pressed juices, wellness shots, açaí bowls, and fresh-baked goods further enhance the menu, ensuring there’s something for everyone—whether vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free. With the launch of its flagship in Coconut Grove, Pura Vida Miami delivers its "Health is Happiness" philosophy that seamlessly blends nutritious dining with a vibrant, community-driven atmosphere.

“We are incredibly excited to debut our flagship location in Coconut Grove, a milestone that marks the evolution of not only our brand but also the city of Miami. We carefully chose this historic neighborhood as it is one of the fastest-growing areas of the city, and we found an incredible opportunity to be part of its transformation. Not only will this be our largest location to date, but it will also introduce our new gelato concept—a project we’ve worked tirelessly to perfect. This flagship will serve as the heartbeat of the brand, seamlessly blending our values of health, community, and sustainability into a space where friends and neighbors can gather, nourish themselves, and enjoy an elevated dining experience.” Said Omer Horev, CEO and Founder of Pura Vida Miami & Horev Hospitality.

Founded by husband-and-wife duo Omer and Jennifer Horev, the brand was born out of their need for healthy, all-day dining options—a vision that has since fueled its expansion to over 30 locations across South Florida and into New York. What started as a small passion project has transformed into a wellness empire, redefining how communities view healthy dining—prioritizing high-quality ingredients, accessibility, and an environment that supports a balanced lifestyle—all while creating over 1,500 careers across South Florida and most recently, New York. Since opening in 2012, Pura Vida Miami has grown from a single café in the South of Fifth neighborhood into a leader in South Florida’s health and wellness space.

The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne Launches $100 Million Full-Scale Renovation of Iconic Beachfront Resort

Poised between the cosmopolitan grace of Miami and the natural beauty of the Atlantic, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, is embarking on a new chapter. Nearly 25 years since Gencom co-developed the asset, the iconic resort has begun a transformational improvement plan totaling over $100 million, ushering in a new era of coastal luxury.

Following completion of the planned improvements, the property is slated to reopen its doors in December 2025.

Located at 455 Grand Bay Drive, the 275,000-square-foot resort spans 17 acres on the barrier island of Key Biscayne. Rising 13 stories above the shoreline, the 420-key hotel features 600 feet of pristine beach access. Since its debut in 2001, the resort has become a premier destination in Miami’s luxury hospitality landscape. The upcoming transformation marks the first comprehensive renovation of this iconic property since its inception.

Spearheaded by design architect Hart Howerton, with public spaces envisioned by Design Agency and guestrooms redesigned by Chapi Chapo Design, the renovation’s vision is deeply rooted in the resort’s island identity while elevating its refined sense of place. Each space will harmonize with the surrounding coastal landscape, incorporating soft natural tones, lush greenery, and textures that evoke the sand and seas.

“With this transformative renovation, we are honoring the property’s legacy and doubling down on our 25-year commitment to the Key Biscayne community,” said Karim Alibhai, Founder and Principal of Gencom. “These enhancements will allow the property to remain competitive in the region’s increasingly sophisticated hospitality landscape, while further elevating Key Biscayne as a premier destination.”

As a visual cue for what is to come, the resort's exterior will be introduced with a fresh, modern color palette that will reflect the surrounding sand and sea. Inside, the lobby will undergo a complete transformation, anchored by a new East-facing glass façade that will seamlessly merge the exterior’s coastal landscape with layered natural textures and warm interior tones. The newly redesigned arrival experience will embrace the island’s tropical elegance, evoking a sense of calm and wonder.

The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, will also undergo a complete redesign to reflect the serenity of its surroundings. Drawing inspiration from the island’s native elements, mangroves, limestone, and the ocean, it will reemerge as a sanctuary for rejuvenation and renewal.

The culinary experience will also evolve with the introduction of a completely refreshed signature restaurant, offering guests and locals bold flavors and locally inspired ingredients. In addition to the new dining offering, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami will continue to welcome guests to its six long-standing dining venues, including RUMBAR, Cantina Beach, Dune, Scoop, Stefano’s, and Key Pantry. Each space will be refreshed to enhance the overall experience, ensuring continuity and charm that aesthetically aligns with the resort’s broader transformation.

Beyond the culinary experience, enhancements will extend across the property’s impressive suite of amenities. Guests will enjoy an upgraded experience across the swimming pools, fitness center, The Club Lounge, and the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Center, the largest tennis facilities of any Ritz-Carlton resort. The hotel also boasts 37,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, making it a favorite among leisure travelers and business groups alike.

“The transformation represents a remarkable investment in the property’s future that will create an elevated hospitality experience for new and returning guests,” said Alessandro Colantonio, Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Gencom. “With this latest capital investment, we remain committed to ensuring that this iconic resort continues to set the standard for luxury in Miami.”

The property is a cornerstone of Gencom’s prestigious portfolio of branded properties, which includes The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch, The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia, The St. Regis Chicago, and Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.

Today, Gencom’s portfolio spans nearly $8 billion in assets under management and under development and includes 23 owned assets with more than 6,000 hotel rooms around the world. Through its operating affiliates Pyramid Global Hospitality and Convene, Gencom oversees over 200 properties and more than 2 million square feet of premium meeting, event, and flexible office space.

Prosper Group and Forte Development have unveiled plans for an ambitious 80-story mixed-use tower designed by ODP Architects at 1040 South Miami Avenue. This striking development, set to rise 945 feet above the skyline, will blend residential, hotel, and retail spaces into a dynamic urban hub. The proposal, submitted under the Miami-Dade County Rapid Transit Zone (RTZ) program, aims to create a vibrant space in close proximity to the Brickell Metromover station, enhancing accessibility for residents and visitors alike. The site was previously slated for a Virgin Hotel project and covers 0.6 acres.

Designed by ODP Architects, the tower will feature 250 condominium units and 48 condo-hotel properties, alongside 100 hotel rooms and 322 parking spaces. Complementing the living spaces will be approximately 1,900 square feet of restaurant space, catering to both residents and patrons of the bustling Brickell area. The developers have integrated a range of modern amenities into the building's plans, such as on-demand IV infusions, cold plunge pools, red light therapy, and infrared saunas.

Prosper Group, headed by Jay Roberts, and Forte Development, led by Marius Fortelni, are collaborating under the entity name 1040 S Miami Development LLC. In a statement regarding the project, the developers emphasized their commitment to enhancing the local environment, noting that the tower's mixed-use concept supports the "live, work, and play" ethos that defines Brickell.

By leveraging the advantages provided by the RTZ framework, the developers are able to sidestep traditional City of Miami zoning regulations, allowing for a streamlined approval process. Although detailed construction timelines are still under wraps, the project marks a significant step forward for urban development in the rapidly evolving Brickell area.

National developer PMG has secured $413 million in construction financing for One Twenty Brickell Residences, a dual-tower luxury mixed-use condominium and rental development rising in the heart of Brickell. The loan covers financing for the condominium, multifamily, commercial, and parking components of the property. An Ares Real Estate fund (“Ares”) and Monarch Alternative Capital provided the financing, which follows a previous collaboration between the two firms on a financing for a PMG property in Wynwood last year.

PMG was represented in the One Twenty Brickell Residences transaction by Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL) who, alongside PMG’s Capital Markets team comprised of Andrew Warman, Jon Blank and Paton Marion, secured the financing. One Twenty Brickell Residences will officially break ground the first week of May and is slated for completion in 2028.

“Obtaining this financing stands as an incredible feat at a time when current market conditions are making development of multifamily towers challenging,” said Andrew Warman, Managing Director of Capital Markets at PMG. “Receiving the continued support of the Ares and Monarch teams underscores not only the confidence the capital markets have in PMG as a sponsor, but also our ability to identify a strategy to deliver both luxury for-sale and rental product to the heart of Miami’s thriving business district.”

Designed by internationally renowned architecture firm Sieger Suarez Architects, with interiors by Cotofana Designs, plans for One Twenty Brickell Residences consist of two towers. The first tower will rise 37 stories and offer 266 fully finished and furnished condominium residences, each delivered with first-of-their-kind deeded office suites to residents upon their purchase of a condo unit. The second tower, sharing a podium with the first, will rise 41 stories and offer 537 multifamily residential units operated by the Sentral Management Platform. Each studio- to three-bedroom will include fully-integrated kitchens with custom countertops, a curated high-end appliance package, imported and custom kitchen and bathroom cabinetry by Italkraft, WaterWorks bathroom fixtures, a contemporary lighting package and fully built-out closets in the primary bedrooms. Residences also will offer a high level of efficiency through PMG’s smart home technology experience for seamless personalization with the touch of a button.

“We are grateful to receive the significant support from the Ares and Monarch Alternative Capital teams as we advance on One Twenty Brickell Residences,” Dan Kaplan, Managing Partner at PMG. “At over 91 percent sold, its swift sales success is a testament to the tremendous team at PMG Residential’s hard work and keen understanding of the Brickell market. We’re looking forward to being one step closer to delivering One Twenty Brickell Residences and its revolutionary concept of luxury living to its future residents.”

One Twenty Brickell Residences’ towers offer an impressive collection of amenities thoughtfully designed for socializing, entertaining, and self-care. The over 48,000 square feet of amenities and services available to multifamily residents include a lobby with a concierge service, a modern gym and fitness studio, a pool and hot tub, a grilling terrace, social lounges, a co-working hub, and daily community events. Over 60,000 square feet of condominium-specific amenities are also available, including an owner’s lounge, an infinity-edge pool, a pickleball court with courtside seating, a kid’s club and gym, a cafe and juice bar, and the One Twenty Brickell Residences Wellness & Fitness center, equipped with steam, sauna, and treatment rooms, a relaxation area with outdoor terraces, a state-of-the-art fitness studio with the latest high-tech equipment, a movement studio, and a yoga lawn.

“Ares is pleased to further build on our relationship with PMG with this latest project that capitalizes on the strong demand for luxury housing in Miami,” said Bryan Donohoe, Partner and Head of U.S. Debt in Ares Real Estate. “We look forward to potential future opportunities to provide Ares’ scaled and flexible capital solutions in this dynamic market environment.”

We are excited to continue our relationship with PMG and are looking forward to the project’s success.”
