PROFILEmiami's Curated Guide to Dining in Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove’s appeal has always extended beyond its waterfront and leafy streets. The neighborhood’s restaurants are part of the way people live here: a terrace breakfast before a walk, a casual lunch between appointments, or a dinner worth making an evening of. As new residential and mixed-use projects join the village, its dining scene offers another lens on the Grove’s evolution, pairing established hospitality names with homegrown concepts.

In this curated guide, PROFILEmiami explores four destinations that capture that range: CARBONE VINO for Italian-American dining and wine, Sadelle’s for breakfast and brunch, Pura Vida Miami for an everyday café stop, and Chèvre x Ziggurat for artisan sandwiches, cheese and wine. Each brings a distinct experience to the neighborhood, with options for both a quick visit and a table worth lingering over.

CARBONE VINO

CARBONE VINO - CARBONE VINO brings Major Food Group’s Italian-American dining to Grand Avenue, with chef Mario Carbone’s familiar signatures and dishes developed for the VINO concept. Bishop Design’s moody interiors give the restaurant the atmosphere for a special evening, while a bar welcoming walk-ins makes it an approachable choice for a spontaneous meal.

The menu pairs Spicy Rigatoni Vodka, Caesar alla ZZ and Veal Parmigiana with Calabrian Calamari, Tortellini Tartufo Nero and Chicken Cacciatore. Wine is central to the experience: a 3,000-bottle cellar spans more than 600 selections, with a changing by-the-glass program that opens the door to fine and rare pours.

Its appeal in the Grove lies in that balance of occasion and familiarity. Guests can settle into a full dinner or enjoy the complete menu at the bar, making the restaurant a useful neighborhood address as well as a destination.

Address: 2911 Grand Avenue, Coconut Grove, FL 33133.

Best for: Date nights, celebratory dinners, wine enthusiasts and weekend lunch. Dinner is served nightly; lunch runs Friday through Sunday, 11:30 a.m.–2 p.m.

SADELLE’S COCONUT GROVE

Sadelle’s Coconut Grove - Sadelle’s brings Major Food Group’s take on the New York breakfast and lunch institution to Mary Street. Its bright dining room and generous terrace make it an inviting place to gather, whether the plan is a quick morning meet-up or a leisurely meal with friends.

Bagel towers with smoked fish anchor a menu of chopped salads, triple-decker sandwiches, French toast and the house cheeseburger. Next door, Sadelle’s Cafe adds a separate reason to stop in: a collaboration with Bonberi founder Nicole Berrie featuring Montauk General matcha lattes, artisanal smoothies and frozen yogurt. The café offerings complement the restaurant’s more indulgent classics with options for a lighter break.

The terrace is particularly well suited to the Grove’s outdoor, unhurried rhythm. It is an easy setting for a neighborhood breakfast or a long lunch, while the adjacent café works for coffee and a treat on the go.

Address: 3321 Mary Street, Miami, FL 33133.

Best for: Breakfast, brunch, terrace lunches and afternoon café stops. The dining room serves daily from 9 a.m.–4 p.m.; the café opens at 7:30 a.m.

PURA VIDA MIAMI Coconut Grove

Pura Vida Miami’s Coconut Grove flagship brings the all-day café brand led by Omer and Jennifer Horev to Grand Avenue. Part of their Horev Hospitality portfolio, the concept combines casual service with a polished setting and a menu built around everyday breakfast, lunch and snack routines.

Options range from açaí bowls, smoothies and avocado toast to salads, wraps and substantial bowls, with 100% grass-fed and grass-finished steak among the protein choices. The location also houses Gelato by Pura Vida Miami, adding soft serve with customizable toppings, sauces and drizzles to the visit.

That variety makes it a natural fit for the Grove’s active, walkable lifestyle. It can be a morning coffee stop, a convenient lunch between errands or a place to pause with family over something sweet, giving the flagship a role beyond a single meal.

Address: 3034 Grand Avenue, Studio A, Miami, FL 33133.

Best for: Casual breakfast, quick lunches, post-workout smoothies and afternoon gelato.

CHÈVRE X ZIGGURAT

Chèvre x Ziggurat brings founder Mario Naar’s Miami cheese, wine and sandwich concept into the Ziggurat Coconut Grove Sales Center on Fuller Street. An affiliate of Think Hospitality, Chèvre has partnered with Allen Morris Co.’s ultra-luxury mixed-use development to combine a gourmet market and café experience with a preview of the project’s residential vision.

Artisan sandwiches, cheeses, charcuterie, caviar and curated wines shape the offering. La Italiana layers mortadella with whipped ricotta and truffled honey, while El Padron pairs Ibérico ham with Manchego. Basque cheesecake provides a sweet finish, and the market’s specialty pantry goods give guests something to take home. Wine and shared boards make this as appealing for a relaxed catch-up as for lunch.

The brand also drew attention with the Golden Glizzy, a $100 collaboration with Golden Goat Caviar and Ficelle Bakery. Rick Ross stopped by to sample the gold-and-caviar-topped hot dog. The creation combined Australian Wagyu with a croissant bun, crème fraîche, mascarpone, a 30-gram tin of caviar and edible gold flakes. Offered around the 2026 Miami Open and Miami Grand Prix, it was a limited-time special; check with Chèvre about any return.

For Coconut Grove, the draw is the meeting of neighborhood hospitality and new development in a setting that invites a casual visit. Fuller Street’s village atmosphere suits sandwiches, wine and conversation, giving diners a reason to explore the sales center beyond real estate.

Address: 3065 Fuller Street, Miami, FL 33133.

Best for: Artisan sandwich lunches, cheese and charcuterie, afternoon wine and casual early-evening gatherings.

Major Food Group (MFG), the visionary hospitality collective behind Carbone, ZZ’s Club, Sadelle’s and Contessa, has opened CARBONE VINO in Miami’s ritzy Coconut Grove neighborhood. Responding to overwhelming enthusiasm for the CARBONE experience beyond Miami Beach, this new addition to the family brings the brand’s culinary artistry and iconic ambiance to the heart of Coconut Grove—plus an array of exciting features unique to the CARBONE VINO experience.

At CARBONE VINO, guests will dine on all of CARBONE’s signatures, along with a range of newly unveiled additions to the repertoire from MFG Co-Founders Chef Mario Carbone, Chef Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick. Befitting its name, CARBONE VINO will feature one of the largest wine collections in Miami, as part of a dynamic beverage program that gives diners the opportunity to enjoy fine and rare wines by the glass that are usually only available by the bottle at other establishments.

Adding to the concept’s appeal is a world-class bar that will serve the complete menu and welcome walk-ins. This feature is unique to the Coconut Grove location, which was designed to become the kind of restaurant that diners can visit time and time again for everything from a milestone celebration to an impromptu meal orchestrated to perfection.

“We’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to continue the incredible story of CARBONE in Miami, and that time is now with CARBONE VINO. It’s a thrill to unveil a new restaurant that will share all the iconic dishes, along with a collection of new signatures that will become tomorrow’s classics and one of the finest wine programs in the country. We look forward to introducing everyone in Coconut Grove and beyond to their new favorite restaurant.” said MFG Co-Founder Jeff Zalaznick.

Honoring the rich tradition of the New York-style Italian restaurant, CARBONE VINO delivers CARBONE’s iconic dishes like the Caesar Salad alla ZZ, Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka, Veal Parmesan, and more—and that is just the beginning.

Exclusive to CARBONE VINO, Chef Mario Carbone introduces an array of expertly crafted new dishes that have been years in the making and are designed to pair with the restaurant’s extraordinary wines. Antipasti highlights include Zucchini Fritti, Zuppa di Mussels with lamb sausage, tomato, and basil, and Chef’s spin on Shrimp Toast: Bruschetta featuring ruby red shrimp, Calabrian chili, and sesame. Faithful renditions of Italian classics also appear on the menu, such as Pumpkin Agnolotti, Tortellini Con Tartufo and Chicken Cacciatore.

Dinner will culminate with desserts like fresh-fried Zeppole, a Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse Pie, Pistachio Tiramisu, and the CARBONE VINO sweet section’s hallmark: Cannoli Sundaes. These feature homemade cannoli-flavored soft serve with all the classic cannoli garnishes, including candied fruit and fresh-fried cannoli-shell shards.

“We’re creating something truly special for Coconut Grove: a restaurant that delivers the quintessential CARBONE experience while sharing new, exciting ideas that draw on years of refinement and a deep passion for giving diners unparalleled versions of what they know and love. To put it another way: I hope to become a regular at CARBONE VINO and I have a feeling that many others will, too, once our team has the pleasure of welcoming them.” Said Chef & MFG Co-Founder, Mario Carbone

For CARBONE VINO, Corporate Wine Director John Slover—whose various wine lists for MFG have garnered countless awards—is proud to present a dynamic and unique beverage program that will keep locals and regulars coming back again and again. The collection encompasses one of the largest in Miami with an inventory of over 3,000 bottles and 600 selections across price points and styles from all major wine-making regions of the world.

Connoisseurs will find nearly 100 examples with bottle age from five to twenty years, while anyone curious about wine will be able to try something new on every visit, thanks to the extensive and ever-changing by-the-glass selection. Throughout the year, CARBONE VINO’s wine team looks forward to shining a light on a variety of their favorite winemakers and styles. In the end, the vision is to create an inviting, effortlessly sophisticated atmosphere where you never know what one of the sommeliers might pull from the cellar and pour for you, just for fun.

While no two CARBONE locations look the same, CARBONE VINO pays homage to the original on Thompson Street in New York’s historic Greenwich Village. Conceived by award-winning Bishop Design, CARBONE VINO’s interior consists of a series of moody and romantic environments that evoke a bygone era. These areas include a main dining room, a lively lounge, and a private dining room that are each defined by unique elements, such as works of art curated by the renowned gallerist and longtime MFG collaborator Vito Schnabel. The selection boasts pieces by the likes of Rene Ricard, Lola Montes, Francesco Clemente, and Julian Schnabel.

Warm lighting and the careful use of color play a significant role in CARBONE VINO's design, with signature fine wine and blue shades selected for a refined touch. The main bar, adorned with burnished bronze accents and a soft arch design, serves as a captivating focal point, seamlessly integrating with the dining areas. Features such as heavy velvet drapes, gold-accented wallpaper and intricately crafted ceilings further contribute to the sophisticated yet approachable atmosphere.

Attention to detail is evident throughout, from the custom-made leather-upholstered banquettes to the meticulously sourced ceramic tiles, all of which work together to create the space’s energetic flow.

“We wanted to transport people on the journey through design, both physically and subliminally. It’s a place where everyone can experience the escapism of everyday life in Miami. Every element is in synergy—from the interiors to the food, the playlist, and service—creating a space that feels both current and authentic for all.” said Paul Bishop, Founder of Bishop Design.

The opening of CARBONE VINO caps off a remarkable year that saw MFG’s global portfolio grow to more than 50 acclaimed establishments everywhere from Dallas to Dubai. In March, GQ Magazine named the brand “one of the most creative companies in the world,” placing it in the company of Apple and Tesla. CARBONE VINO marks MFG’s ninth endeavor in Miami, following CARBONE, ZZ’s Club, Sadelle’s, Dirty French Steakhouse, Contessa, HaSalon, Sadelle’s at Kith, and Chateau ZZ’s.
