FEAL Hospitality, the renowned restaurant group helmed by James Beard Award nominees Chef Niven Patel and Mohamed “Mo” Alkassar, has opened a new Ghee Indian Kitchen in Miami’s arts-centric Wynwood neighborhood. The Wynwood location is the first step in Ghee’s planned national expansion, following the success of its original Dadeland restaurant and with Atlanta on the horizon. Known for redefining Indian dining in South Florida, Ghee has earned a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand distinction for three consecutive years (2022–2024) and captivated diners with its modern farm-to-table approach to Indian cuisine.

The new Ghee Indian Kitchen offers a mix of signature dishes from its original location alongside exciting new menu items, including mushroom momos, biryani, and a dedicated kebab section. The restaurant accommodates 120 guests, featuring indoor dining, outdoor seating, and a 10-seat bar. In a first for the Ghee brand, the Wynwood location features a full cocktail program that showcases farm-to-glass creations that incorporate bold spices and seasonal ingredients.

Among the highlights are signature cocktails such as the Golden Thread, a saffron-infused vodka sour, and the Mood Ring, a color-changing lemongrass Collins. Guests can also enjoy non-alcoholic mocktails like the Bear Necessities, featuring tamarind syrup and Seedlip Spice.

“Ghee Indian Kitchen is incredibly personal to me—it’s where my journey in hospitality truly began,” said Chef Patel. “Wynwood offers the perfect backdrop for us to evolve while staying true to our roots. I’m excited to introduce new dishes, like the kebab section, while continuing to showcase the bold, balanced flavors Ghee is known for. Wynwood is just the beginning; we’re looking toward Atlanta as our next stop.”

Ghee Wynwood will embody the creative spirit of its neighborhood with a vibrant interior design by Hybrid Creative. Inspired by a trip to India taken by Alkassar and Patel, the space will feature bespoke furnishings, including handmade bone-inlay tables and shell-inlay mirrors. At the heart of the restaurant is “Abundance II,” a painting of a family of elephants by Miami artist Matthew Herget, symbolizing Ghee’s growth and evolution.

Ghee Wynwood joins the growing list of FEAL Hospitality concepts, including Erba, an upscale Italian restaurant in Coral Gables; NiMo, a coastal Mediterranean venue in Jupiter; and Paya, an island-inspired eatery in South Beach. FEAL Hospitality, founded in 2018, has earned acclaim for its ingredient-driven menus and warm hospitality.

“Wynwood is the perfect next step for Ghee’s journey,” said Mohamed Alkassar. “This location not only brings our signature dishes closer to the heart of Miami but also elevates the brand with new experiences like the cocktail program. We’re proving that authenticity and scalability can go hand in hand.”

The all-day menu merges classic and new offerings. Highlights include:

    •    Snacks: Crispy Broccoli with mushrooms and red pepper sauce, Mushroom Momo with cashew sauce, and Yellowfin Tuna Bhel.

    •    Curries: Bell & Evans Chicken Tikka Masala, Kerala Lamb Curry, and Turmeric Marinated Fish.

In addition, Ghee offers a 13-dish tasting menu ($75), lunch tiffins ($24), and an Indian-inspired Hi-Chai tea service ($35), launching this month.

Chef Patel’s Rancho Patel in Homestead remains a cornerstone of Ghee’s approach, supplying the restaurant with fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Additionally, the restaurant partners with sustainable fishermen and ethical livestock farmers to source high-quality ingredients. Ghee Indian Kitchen is located at 63 NW 24th Street, Miami, FL and operates daily from 11:30 AM to 11 PM.

Major Food Group (MFG), the visionary hospitality collective behind Carbone, ZZ’s Club, Sadelle’s and Contessa, has opened CARBONE VINO in Miami’s ritzy Coconut Grove neighborhood. Responding to overwhelming enthusiasm for the CARBONE experience beyond Miami Beach, this new addition to the family brings the brand’s culinary artistry and iconic ambiance to the heart of Coconut Grove—plus an array of exciting features unique to the CARBONE VINO experience.

At CARBONE VINO, guests will dine on all of CARBONE’s signatures, along with a range of newly unveiled additions to the repertoire from MFG Co-Founders Chef Mario Carbone, Chef Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick. Befitting its name, CARBONE VINO will feature one of the largest wine collections in Miami, as part of a dynamic beverage program that gives diners the opportunity to enjoy fine and rare wines by the glass that are usually only available by the bottle at other establishments.

Adding to the concept’s appeal is a world-class bar that will serve the complete menu and welcome walk-ins. This feature is unique to the Coconut Grove location, which was designed to become the kind of restaurant that diners can visit time and time again for everything from a milestone celebration to an impromptu meal orchestrated to perfection.

“We’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to continue the incredible story of CARBONE in Miami, and that time is now with CARBONE VINO. It’s a thrill to unveil a new restaurant that will share all the iconic dishes, along with a collection of new signatures that will become tomorrow’s classics and one of the finest wine programs in the country. We look forward to introducing everyone in Coconut Grove and beyond to their new favorite restaurant.” said MFG Co-Founder Jeff Zalaznick.

Honoring the rich tradition of the New York-style Italian restaurant, CARBONE VINO delivers CARBONE’s iconic dishes like the Caesar Salad alla ZZ, Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka, Veal Parmesan, and more—and that is just the beginning.

Exclusive to CARBONE VINO, Chef Mario Carbone introduces an array of expertly crafted new dishes that have been years in the making and are designed to pair with the restaurant’s extraordinary wines. Antipasti highlights include Zucchini Fritti, Zuppa di Mussels with lamb sausage, tomato, and basil, and Chef’s spin on Shrimp Toast: Bruschetta featuring ruby red shrimp, Calabrian chili, and sesame. Faithful renditions of Italian classics also appear on the menu, such as Pumpkin Agnolotti, Tortellini Con Tartufo and Chicken Cacciatore.

Dinner will culminate with desserts like fresh-fried Zeppole, a Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse Pie, Pistachio Tiramisu, and the CARBONE VINO sweet section’s hallmark: Cannoli Sundaes. These feature homemade cannoli-flavored soft serve with all the classic cannoli garnishes, including candied fruit and fresh-fried cannoli-shell shards.

“We’re creating something truly special for Coconut Grove: a restaurant that delivers the quintessential CARBONE experience while sharing new, exciting ideas that draw on years of refinement and a deep passion for giving diners unparalleled versions of what they know and love. To put it another way: I hope to become a regular at CARBONE VINO and I have a feeling that many others will, too, once our team has the pleasure of welcoming them.” Said Chef & MFG Co-Founder, Mario Carbone

For CARBONE VINO, Corporate Wine Director John Slover—whose various wine lists for MFG have garnered countless awards—is proud to present a dynamic and unique beverage program that will keep locals and regulars coming back again and again. The collection encompasses one of the largest in Miami with an inventory of over 3,000 bottles and 600 selections across price points and styles from all major wine-making regions of the world.

Connoisseurs will find nearly 100 examples with bottle age from five to twenty years, while anyone curious about wine will be able to try something new on every visit, thanks to the extensive and ever-changing by-the-glass selection. Throughout the year, CARBONE VINO’s wine team looks forward to shining a light on a variety of their favorite winemakers and styles. In the end, the vision is to create an inviting, effortlessly sophisticated atmosphere where you never know what one of the sommeliers might pull from the cellar and pour for you, just for fun.

While no two CARBONE locations look the same, CARBONE VINO pays homage to the original on Thompson Street in New York’s historic Greenwich Village. Conceived by award-winning Bishop Design, CARBONE VINO’s interior consists of a series of moody and romantic environments that evoke a bygone era. These areas include a main dining room, a lively lounge, and a private dining room that are each defined by unique elements, such as works of art curated by the renowned gallerist and longtime MFG collaborator Vito Schnabel. The selection boasts pieces by the likes of Rene Ricard, Lola Montes, Francesco Clemente, and Julian Schnabel.

Warm lighting and the careful use of color play a significant role in CARBONE VINO's design, with signature fine wine and blue shades selected for a refined touch. The main bar, adorned with burnished bronze accents and a soft arch design, serves as a captivating focal point, seamlessly integrating with the dining areas. Features such as heavy velvet drapes, gold-accented wallpaper and intricately crafted ceilings further contribute to the sophisticated yet approachable atmosphere.

Attention to detail is evident throughout, from the custom-made leather-upholstered banquettes to the meticulously sourced ceramic tiles, all of which work together to create the space’s energetic flow.

“We wanted to transport people on the journey through design, both physically and subliminally. It’s a place where everyone can experience the escapism of everyday life in Miami. Every element is in synergy—from the interiors to the food, the playlist, and service—creating a space that feels both current and authentic for all.” said Paul Bishop, Founder of Bishop Design.

The opening of CARBONE VINO caps off a remarkable year that saw MFG’s global portfolio grow to more than 50 acclaimed establishments everywhere from Dallas to Dubai. In March, GQ Magazine named the brand “one of the most creative companies in the world,” placing it in the company of Apple and Tesla. CARBONE VINO marks MFG’s ninth endeavor in Miami, following CARBONE, ZZ’s Club, Sadelle’s, Dirty French Steakhouse, Contessa, HaSalon, Sadelle’s at Kith, and Chateau ZZ’s.

Helm Equities Reveals 'The Helm' Live Local Act Mixed-Use Tower In Miami Design District

The New York and Miami-based Helm Equities has proposed The Helm, poised to enhance Miami’s luxurious and ever-evolving Design District and will utilize the Live Local act to create a diverse mixture of residents while significantly reducing traffic and its overall impact on the neighborhood.

The New York and Miami-based Helm Equities has proposed The Helm, poised to enhance Miami’s luxurious and ever-evolving Design District and will utilize the Live Local act to create a diverse mixture of residents while significantly reducing traffic and its overall impact on the neighborhood. The extraordinary mixed-use project, with a total estimated development cost of nearly $500 million and approximately 500,000 square feet of active uses, represents the next chapter in the neighborhood’s evolution. Purposefully designed, The Helm perfectly complements the Design District’s renowned luxury retail, distinct architecture, vibrant art scene, and collection of best-in-Miami restaurants—all within a highly walkable and workable environment.

Spanning an entire two-acre city block, The Helm is bounded by Northeast 42nd Street to the north, Northeast 43rd Street to the south, and Northeast 4th Avenue to the west. Developed and refined over several years by Helm Equities’ Ayal Horovits, in collaboration with Cube3 led by architect Jon Cardello, this thoughtfully planned project introduces several firsts for the Design District. The Helm will feature 162 branded residences, 116 rental residences, 80,000 square feet of boutique office space, 45,000 square feet of world-class retail and dining options, and more than 600 onsite parking spaces. In addition, the Helm will feature multiple community spaces that build on the neighborhood’s vibrant energy, beautiful landscaping, and inspired design. The project’s whimsical and wide-open design incorporates two distinct buildings, seamlessly connected by a paseo flanked with retail offerings, as well as a community park with more than 35,000 square feet of ground-level open space that bridges the Buena Vista and Design District neighborhoods. The site currently offers a glimpse into its bright future with a Botero Sculpture Garden, by Gary Nader.

"The Design District offers something truly unique. Strolling through its luxury retail and restaurants, observing the stunning architecture and landscaping, all intertwined with vibrant art, creates a rare blend of energy and calm. We wanted to build on that foundation—to create a project that introduces the idea of living and working in Miami’s most distinct neighborhood," explains Helm Equities Principal Ayal Horovits.

At every level, The Helm is masterfully designed to blend with its natural surroundings. Private terraces and shared outdoor spaces are enriched with lush greenery, creating an inspiring and tranquil atmosphere throughout the live-work environment. Every floor offers direct access to outdoor areas, while residents enjoy unobstructed, 360-degree views of Biscayne Bay and the iconic Downtown Miami skyline—elevating both modern lifestyle and connection to nature. The Helm’s wide variety of uses and offerings will seamlessly pair with the vast walkable amenities in the Design District to sharply reduce vehicular traffic.

“The distinctive design of this project reinterprets the Art Deco history of the Buena Vista neighborhood,” says Cube3 Partner Jon Cardello. “The teardrop shape of the building forms are reminiscent of Streamline architecture as the building’s façade transforms into window and balcony fenestrations with flat arched frames that create a pedestrian scale.”

Adding more benefit to the public, this project will utilize the Live Local act to create a diverse mixture of residents. Regulations require that 40 percent or 116 of the residences at The Helm will be offered at 120% of Area Medium Income. The Helm’s residential building will also offer luxury services, including valet and concierge and a private lounge and meeting rooms. Residents can also enjoy two serene and lush amenity decks that feature pools, a state-of-the-art gym, and modern dining options. The 150 branded residences will provide large, meticulously designed floorplates with world-class amenities.

The building massing is strategically oriented toward the historic Florida East Coast Railroad tracks and the upcoming, ultra-modern Northeast Corridor high-speed train station. The Brightline station will introduce substantial new live/work opportunities for both The Helm’s residents and the surrounding neighborhood. A recent traffic study by Kimley Horn confirms that the mixed-use design will significantly reduce traffic and its overall impact on the neighborhood, with a 29-37% decrease in daily commutes compared to the previously planned, commercial-only project.

The Helm has also been carefully designed to achieve LEED Gold and WELL Gold certifications, including a dedicated outside air system (DOAS) delivering 100-percent outside air to tenants and an all-electric HVAC system.

Coconut Grove-based development firm Terra, led by David Martin, has secured a total of $291 million in permanent financing for the newly completed first phase of Centro City, a 38-acre mixed-use development located in the center of Miami-Dade County, just west of Little Havana.

Coconut Grove-based development firm Terra, led by David Martin, has secured a total of $291 million in permanent financing for the newly completed first phase of Centro City, a 38-acre mixed-use development located in the center of Miami-Dade County, just west of Little Havana.

JVP Management has issued a $187 million loan for the development’s multifamily residential component. Hudson Bay Capital has issued a $104 million loan for the retail component. The two loans will be used to pay off the development’s existing construction financing, which was provided in 2022 by Apollo Global Management and Mack Real Estate Credit Strategies.

Now complete, Centro City’s first phase includes a total of 350,000 square feet of revamped and newly built retail space, along with three 8-story multifamily buildings with 470 market-rate apartments. Leasing is now underway for the development’s residential component and tenants are expected to begin move-ins this March.

A Walker & Dunlop team led by Keith Kurland and Gangemi Law Group represented Terra in the transactions. Holland & Knight partners Joe Dewey, Brett Holland, Shawn Amuial and Shaina Kamen, and associate Brian Piper, led the firm’s representation of Hudson Bay Capital.

"Securing long-term financing for Centro City represents a significant milestone, not just for Terra but for the South Florida real estate market as a whole," said David Martin, CEO of Terra. "This project embodies our vision of creating vibrant, sustainable communities that enhance the way people live, work, and connect. Centro City’s completion will provide much-needed housing options, state-of-the-art retail experiences, and community spaces in the heart of Miami-Dade, setting a new standard for mixed-use developments in the region. We are excited to continue building momentum with future phases that will further contribute to the area’s growth and vitality."

Arquitectonica’s vision for the development’s residential component includes multifamily buildings lining the perimeter of the property featuring a series of courtyards, pool decks and lushly landscaped sidewalks. Market-rate units – priced from $2,500 per month – range from studios to two-bedroom apartments measuring between 500 and 1,250 square feet in size. Community amenities include multiple pools, poolside cabanas, barbecue grill areas, a children’s playground, a dog park, resident lounges, game rooms, and more.

The development’s retail component, which included the redevelopment of the property’s existing Central Shopping Plaza, is anchored by a 100,000-square-foot Target and is 95% leased to new and existing tenants including Ross Dress for Less, DD’s, Fresco Y Mas, Walgreens, and Bank of America. Designed by RSP Architects, the reimagined shopping center has been upgraded with a newly conceived façade, common areas, landscaping and signage along with the construction of new retail outparcels.

All told, Centro City’s master plan will come alive in multiple phases and include up to 1,200 market-rate residential apartments, green space for residents, a newly reimagined shopping center with lifestyle-oriented retail and restaurants, a Class A office building, and a Mater Academy K-8 Charter School. Construction of the development’s second phase, which will include approximately 518 multifamily apartments, is expected to commence later this year.

Centro City’s location in West Little Havana – on the northwest corner of NW 7th Street and NW 37th Avenue – is near some of Miami’s largest employment centers, including Miami International Airport, the planned Inter Miami soccer stadium, the Coral Gables Business District, and Blue Lagoon Office Complex. Additionally, the property is across the street from the historic Magic City Casino gaming and entertainment venue, and less than two blocks from the 836 Expressway, providing unparalleled access.

Terra’s portfolio of newly completed mixed-use commercial and multifamily developments across South Florida includes Grove Central, a transit-oriented mixed-use development with residential and retail uses in Coconut Grove; Pines Garden at City Center, a garden-apartment community in Broward County’s City of Pembroke Pines; Natura Gardens, a multifamily community in Northwest Miami-Dade County; and Doral Atrium and Doral Square, two lifestyle-driven retail developments in the City of Doral. Terra is also currently developing Upland Park, a $1 billion mixed-use transit-oriented community that will transform West Miami-Dade County’s Dolphin Park-and-Ride/Transit Terminal Facility into a 47-acre multimodal transportation hub with residential, retail and commercial uses.

One Thousand Group and Terra Secure $285 Million Construction Loan For Villa Miami

One Thousand Group and Terra have secured a $285 million construction loan to bring Villa Miami to life in Miami’s East Edgewater neighborhood. As the first-ever residential tower branded by the world-renowned Major Food Group (MFG), the 650-foot-tall waterfront condominium is set to become a new architectural landmark on Biscayne Bay.

One Thousand Group and Terra have secured a $285 million construction loan to bring Villa Miami to life in Miami’s East Edgewater neighborhood. As the first-ever residential tower branded by the world-renowned Major Food Group (MFG), the 650-foot-tall waterfront condominium is set to become a new architectural landmark on Biscayne Bay featuring 70 private residences, a helipad, and a distinctive copper-colored exoskeleton designed by ODP Architects. Construction of Villa Miami broke ground earlier this month and is slated for completion in 2027.

The financing was provided by TYKO Capital, which is backed by Elliott Investment Management and led by Adi Chugh. TYKO is a multi-billion-dollar commercial real estate private equity and private credit investment management platform. Among the notable projects that the firm has provided financing for in New York City and Miami are Manhattan's Flatiron Building, One High Line’s luxury condos, Miami's St. Regis Residences, and the 830 Brickell Class-A office building. Financing was arranged by Walker & Dunlop’s Keith Kurland and Jordan Casella who also recently worked with Terra on the $170 million construction loan for the first phase of the firm’s $1 billion mixed-use project near Sweetwater’s Dolphin Mall, Upland Park.

“The financing secured for Villa Miami underscores the demand for an exceptionally curated residential experience within an intimate, boutique setting,” said David Martin, CEO of Terra. “Today’s lenders are drawn to best-in-class projects led by trusted teams with a proven track record. Villa Miami unites top-tier talent in a distinctive collaboration, creating a landmark residence in Edgewater—one of Miami’s most central and connected neighborhoods. This project reflects the evolution of Miami’s luxury condo market, which now caters to a discerning buyer demographic with a refined knowledge of brand ethos and the market.”

Set to rise 650 feet and 56 stories, Villa Miami celebrated its groundbreaking on December 5th during Miami’s Art Week. The project will house only 70 ‘estate-style’ residences, each featuring expansive full- and half-floor layouts with sweeping 360-degree views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. With residences starting at $5 million, Villa Miami’s units range from 3,000 to 6,000 square feet. Completion is anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2027.

“As branded residences continue to grow, they are redefining luxury by integrating the expertise of food and hospitality leaders like Major Food Group,” said Kevin Venger, Co-Founder of One Thousand Group. “With its prime waterfront location, striking architecture, and unparalleled amenities, Villa Miami sets a new benchmark for artistry, innovation, and sophisticated living, cementing Miami’s status as a global design and lifestyle hub.”

Edgewater has become increasingly attractive to Northeastern buyers drawn to its central location, close to sought-after neighborhoods like the Miami Design District, Midtown, Downtown and Miami Beach. These areas offer some of the city’s most desirable and walkable lifestyle destinations, with top-rated dining, high-end boutique shopping and cultural hotspots. Villa Miami will also be home to a new Major Food Group’s restaurant concept opening on the ground floor.

Villa Miami marks MFG’s debut in residential development. Co-founded by hospitality visionaries Jeff Zalaznick, Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Miami partner Alex Pirez, Major Food Group brings its signature high-end dining experience directly to residents with Villa Miami’s Copper Club, an exclusive private club spanning multiple floors which houses the tower’s exclusive amenity suite.

The interiors at Villa Miami are crafted by Vicky Charles of Charles & Co., known for her work with high-profile clients like Sony Music, Goop and celebrities such as George and Amal Clooney, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, and David and Victoria Beckham. Inspired by Villa Miami’s bayfront location, Charles designed interiors that reflect the romance of waterfront cities like Venice and the French Riviera, reimagined with a modern Miami flair.

Villa Miami’s development team is behind some of Miami’s most iconic residential towers. Terra, led by David Martin, recently delivered Five Park Miami Beach and Mr. C Residences Coconut Grove, and has previously completed residential developments including the Renzo Piano-designed Eighty Seven Park, the Rem Koolhaas/OMA-designed Park Grove, and the Bjarke Ingels-designed Grove at Grand Bay towers. One Thousand Group’s portfolio includes the Zaha Hadid-designed One Thousand Museum tower, Ten Museum Park, and Regalia on the Ocean. Additionally, the firm just recently acquired a nearby Edgewater site for a Kohn Pedersen Fox-Designed tower.
