Drawing inspiration from the intricate beauty of Moorish architecture, Habibi Miami promises to be a visual spectacle, a veritable immersion into the rich tapestry of Maghrebi culture. Under the guidance of Creative Director Mark Lehmkuhl from Ghosthouse Design Group and Love Lake Studios, the venue will be transformed into a whimsical retro retreat, with hues of pink and teal reminiscent of a bygone Tangier era. Set within a tent-like structure reminiscent of opulent riads, Habibi Miami invites patrons on a sensory journey, evoking the vibrant spirit and timeless traditions of French Morocco.

From the moment guests step onto the 30-foot-long red carpet entrance adorned with Alhambra design elements, they'll be enveloped in an atmosphere of opulence. With a seating capacity of 200, the restaurant will also boast an outdoor patio for sunset soirées, alongside a bar adorned with hookahs offering bespoke tableside hookah service. Tableside dessert carts will offer indulgent treats like ice cream with Turkish mastic and Halva cheesecake.

Drawing from North African and Mediterranean influences, the bar team will showcase exotic ingredients and innovative techniques, such as fat washing – the process of toasting seeds to pull out their oils and infusing them in spirits overnight – to craft signature cocktails like the "Ali" Fashioned and the Moroccan Margarita—a perfect complement to the eclectic menu.

Habibi Miami is slated to open its doors in the summer of 2024, and is located at 452 Northwest North River Drive, Miami, FL.

The project’s grand opening is scheduled for May 2024. Chef Ozkaya brings his esteemed talents to Gale Miami for a variety of dining concepts ranging from an American-style steakhouse, an Italian concept, to a Mediterranean outpost featuring a menu inspired by his Turkish heritage; which will be complemented by concierge catering services tailored for both residents and outside guests.

Driven to pursue his culinary aspirations, Chef Ozkaya studied Tourism and Hotel Management before refining his skills at esteemed hotels such as Hilton Mersin and Hilton Istanbul. No stranger to Miami’s highly competitive culinary scene, he has worked at legendary hotspots The Bazaar by Jose Andres, Mandolin Aegean Bistro, and elevated the dining landscape as a Corporate Chef for Soho House in Miami and Istanbul. Chef Ozkaya's repertoire spans Italian, Spanish, and Turkish, and many world-wide cuisines. His exceptional talents earned him recognition as the executive chef at Wynwood Diner, which was named the "Best Diner of 2015." This partnership is about more than just food—it's about cultivating something truly exceptional right in the heart of Downtown Miami.”

Chef Erhan Ozkaya's vision will manifest in three exquisite dining concepts at Gale Miami Hotel & Residences. The first restaurant to open in Summer 2024, an Italian concept located on the ground floor with expansive indoor-outdoor seating and a 360 bar. On the 9th floor, guests will have the pleasure of experiencing two unique dining options. The second will be an American steakhouse and lounge will deliver prime cuts and impeccable service in an elevated, timeless setting, followed by a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant with nods to Erhan's Turkish heritage. The Mediterranean restaurant will also feature a retractable roof and an outdoor terrace, showcasing breathtaking views of downtown Miami. WoodHouse, the visionary development company, has announced the highly-anticipated reopening of The Moore in the Miami Design District, marking the beginning of a new chapter for this iconic landmark. Stepping into its next century, The Moore emerges as a vibrant lifestyle and cultural destination, featuring a private members club, boutique hotel, executive offices, gallery space, and the exciting addition of Elastika, a modern-American restaurant set to open its doors to the public this weekend.

Elastika, nestled on the first floor, introduces a fresh culinary experience under the guidance of acclaimed Executive Chef Joe Anthony. Designed to be more than just a restaurant, Elastika aims to become the heartbeat of the Miami Design District—a place where people gather, dine, and immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of art and culture that defines the area.

Drawing inspiration from Miami’s diverse international community and The Moore’s storied legacy of art and design, Elastika embodies a culinary canvas where carefully curated ingredients and heartfelt cooking techniques converge. The restaurant's namesake pays homage to the iconic Zaha Hadid sculpture, Elastika, suspended majestically throughout the four-story atrium above the dining room—a stunning testament to Miami's boundless creativity.

Brady Wood, Founder & CEO of WoodHouse, shared that “Our vision for Elastika extends beyond the menu. We've transformed the first floor of The Moore into the lobby of the Miami Design District—an inviting destination where people can gather, dine, and enjoy the landmark building and Zaha Hadid's iconic sculpture.”

Elastika’s menu reflects a commitment to sourcing the finest ingredients and close collaboration with local farmers, including Tiny Farm, French Farms, Swank Specialty Produce, and others. Executive Chef Joe Anthony expressed his culinary philosophy, saying, “Our culinary vision is to create vibrant food that is original and thoughtful, yet humble in its roots. By being conscientious about sourcing regenerative and sustainable ingredients whenever possible, we are able to create a distinct style of cuisine while still pushing flavor to the forefront.”

The menu features a range of globally eclectic dishes including the Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho with pickled tomatillos, avocado and fennel pollen focaccia; the Citrus Cured Kingfish Crudo with fermented farro, local kohlrabi and cucumber “aguachile;” a Grass-Fed Bison Tartare, with escabeche aioli, umami crumble and house-made country loaf; Eggplant and Sheep’s Milk Ravioli Serviettes, with spring fricassee, local mushrooms and pine nut froth; Grilled Heritage Pork "Ribeye" with tiny farm's turnips, grilled broccoli rabe and red verjus-cardamom sauce; and the Miso Marinated Beef Tenderloin, with Castle Valley Mill's farro, local herb coulis and carrot "hot sauce."

The design ethos of Elastika seamlessly blends modern sophistication with the building's original architectural elements, creating an ambiance that is both inviting and elegant. Curated by Miami-based art advisor Monica Kalpakian, the restaurant features a collection of contemporary art, including Rob Pruitt’s US (2013) on loan from the late Rosa de la Cruz’s esteemed collection.

Collaborating with hospitality design firm ICRAVE, WoodHouse has transformed the historic atrium into a culinary haven, complete with an expansive bar, plush velvet seating, and a semi-private dining room. The addition of a new skylight floods the space with natural light, while the sidewalk patio offers a charming al fresco dining experience amidst lush greenery.

The history of The Moore, dating back to the 1920s Florida Land Boom, adds another layer of intrigue to Elastika's narrative. Once a furniture showroom and warehouse, The Moore has played a pivotal role in shaping Miami's landscape, hosting numerous high-profile events and exhibitions over the years.

Elastika will be open for dinner from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Lunch service will commence from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday starting May 3, 2024. For reservations and to learn more visit www.elastikamiami.com.

Debuting in the charming Buena Vista neighborhood, La Màrtola is bringing a taste of culinary treasures from the Italian, French, and Spanish Rivieras for a unique, alfresco dining experience. The concept was created by esteemed partners - hospitality impresario Paolo Domeneghetti and Martino de Rosa, founder of the internationally acclaimed La Filiale in Italy, made famous by Netflix’s Chef’s Table. Hailing from New York City and Italy, respectively, both partners have come together to bring the European philosophy of generous, warm hospitality to Buena Vista, starring pizza made with 36-hour Italian dough, fresh local fish, farm-raised meats, and a world-class gelato program curated by Italian master gelataio, Simone Bonini.

Meals are filled with aromas from the Stefano Ferrara wood-fired pizza oven and custom-made wood grill by Grillworks with a gently illuminated open-air setting reminiscent of the coast of Saint Tropez, Marbella, or Portofino. The intimate bar at La Màrtola showcases a carefully selected collection of spirits, classic cocktails, and a wine list brimming with personality.

“La Màrtola is the culmination of our passion for dining that is casually elegant, creatively simple, and uniquely familiar. We highlight the simplicity and quality of classics, blending tradition and innovation to create a space that inspires the art of savoring life,” says owner Paolo Domeneghetti.

Menu highlights include Farm-Fresh Oysters; Orata Crudo with Ciliegini tomatoes & Taggiasca olives; Bluefin Akami Tuna Tartare with Mediterranean gin, grapefruit & orange; and traditional plates like Lobster Salad, Paleta Ibérica con Chips, grilled Turbot and the Bistecca Fiorentina. Presented family-style, these dishes capture the aura of this oasis, alongside house specialties like Olive Ascolane, Fried Cremini, and Farm-Fresh Heirloom Tomatoes.

La Filiale is at the helm of La Màrtola’s pizza program, presenting an array of Neapolitan-style pizzas, including our favorite - the Carbonara. Each pizza is a testament to the art of pizza making, featuring ingredients freshly imported from Naples and a secret, naturally fermented 'impasto' prepared in-house daily.

The wine list features select categories: Champagne, Burgundy, Barolo, Rosé, and a "pocket list" showcasing special bottlings from winemaker "Friends of La Màrtola”. Cocktails include a variety of signature and classic drinks, as well as aromatic and herbal spritzes, using local and natural ingredients. La Màrtola is located at 4702 Northeast 2nd Avenue and will be open daily from lunch to dinner - 12 PM to 10:30 PM - with a seasonal menu alongside fresh and ever-changing daily specials. This venture signifies the beginning of a collaboration between Sá Pessoa and Sault Hospitality, a partnership established by Miami hospitality experts Jourdan Binder, Sven Vogtland, and Alan Drummond.

Renowned Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, famous for his two-Michelin star restaurant Alma, has unveiled his latest culinary endeavor, Sereia, located in Miami's Coconut Grove. This venture signifies the beginning of a collaboration between Sá Pessoa and Sault Hospitality, a partnership established by Miami hospitality experts Jourdan Binder, Sven Vogtland, and Alan Drummond.

Sereia is a modern, seafood-forward restaurant inspired by the Iberian coast and Sá Pessoa’s travels, a cumulation of flavors from his rich culinary history paired with a lifetime of experience working in some of the best restaurants around the world.

Sereia's culinary focus is its seafood offerings, presenting a diverse selection of imported and locally-sourced catches. From the coveted Carabineiro (Scarlett Prawn) sourced from the deep, cold waters off the coast of Algarve in Southern Portugal, served with seafood rice, to the classic Cataplana fish stew, seafood takes center stage on the menu. Guests can indulge in main courses such as the suckling pork confit featuring black pigs from the Iberian peninsula or visit the crudo bar for an interactive experience, allowing chefs to guide diners through a thoughtfully curated tasting menu.

The bar program showcases expertly crafted cocktails that reflect the essence of Sá Pessao’s menu, incorporating key ingredients. The 'Iberian Mist' is a blend of Croft Brandy, Madeira, peach, and cinnamon, with a tableside presentation finished using an Iberico Ham essence made from reduced Iberico trimmings. Embracing the significance of port wine in Portuguese culture, the 'Blue Port and Tonic' features white port wine, celery, Blue Magik powder, bitter orange, and elderflower tonic.

Located in the heart of Coconut Grove on Main Highway, Sereia's 125-seat venue includes indoor and outdoor dining, a full bar, a private dining room for up to 12 guests offering curated chef’s tasting menus, and a crudo bar, embodying simplicity, approachability, and an underlying elegance. Sereia will be open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, 6-11 pm. Address: 3540 Main Highway, Miami, FL.
